Expert Advice: For trees and shrubs, successful growth depends on proper planting, in the first place.  The first criteria we observe during a diagnosis is whether there is a visible “Root Flare” (follow this link to see an example of a good Root Flare). Planting depth and mulching can have a dramatic impact on growth and development.  Organic Air can repair developmental problems caused by trees being planted too deeply, and/or having excessive soil and mulch piled around the base of the trunk (both are common in most landscapes).

An Uncommon Approach: Handling plant stress issues that most other companies DON’T or CAN’T address: At Organic Air, we take an uncommon approach to plant health that revolves around re-creating a healthy soil environment for your plants’ roots to grow in, similar to what occurs in nature.  This philosophy is becoming more common in places like New York, and on the East Coast in general.  But, from Norwalk and Sandusky, to Cleveland, there aren’t many companies yet that can address the problem of  barren, compacted soils that occur in most landscapes.  After construction, when heavy equipment has compressed the ground, soils are left poorly drained, and low in oxygen.  This type of environment usually leads to high stress for both the landscape plants, and the lawn.  Soil compaction can also cause a devastating disease called Armillaria, that attacks many mature trees, such as Oaks and Maples.

 

Cutting-Edge Equipment: On the pages of this web site, you will learn about cutting-edge equipment, like the Air Knife, and products that set Organic Air apart from traditional companies in the landscape care industry.  It should be noted that, even though we take pride in pursuing a natural approach to a healthy landscape, we recognize that there are occasionally serious pest problems, that are most effectively treated with conventional chemical pesticides.  We are fully licensed, and able to provide those services.   On the other hand, unlike the treatment services offered by most tree and shrub care providers, conventional pesticides are not the first, or primary tools we use to protect your plants. Being organic, our costs may be a bit higher than with other companies.  However, on the whole, you will have much healthier plants that are more resistant to attacks from insects and diseases, so there will be fewer occasions to use chemical pesticides.
